What is B.Sc. Nursing?
The B.Sc. Nursing programme is a four-year professional course designed to prepare students as skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate nursing professionals. The curriculum covers subjects such as Nursing Foundations, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Nutrition, and Midwifery. Students will have regular clinical postings in our affiliated hospitals and medical centres, gaining extensive hands-on exposure while building strong competencies in patient care, teamwork, and healthcare management to ensure career readiness in the nursing profession.

According to the National Health Mission and WHO estimates, India still faces a shortfall of over 2 million qualified nurses to meet the recommended nurse-patient ratio. This gap is both a challenge and an opportunity for young men and women aspiring to meaningful healthcare careers, offering continuous learning, personal growth, and diverse pathways across hospitals, communities, research, and education.
Qualification
a) Must pass ‘10+2’ examination (with Physics Chemistry Biology subjects) from any recognized Board.
b) Minimum aggregate considering above subjects taken together for General and EWS: 45%.
c) Minimum aggregate considering above subjects taken together for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC- B/PwD: 40%.
d) Must pass in English in (10+2) examination.
Age
Age of the applicant must be between 17 to 35 years as on the 31st December of the admission year.
Medical Fitness
The candidate will not be admitted, if she/he is found medically unfit. The following examination are to be done before admission (i) Physical Examination by a (Registered) medical practitioner , (ii) Chest x – ray PA view, (iii) Routine examination of Blood, urine and stool, (iv) Blood group & RH factor, (v) Eye testing.
Others
• Candidates from vocational streams at any open school will not be accepted.
• Candidates must be able to read , write and express in Bengali and English.
• The candidates must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of West Bengal for at least 5 years uninterruptedly on the date of application.
• Course is fully residential.
• Any other norms as per the concerned authorities / council / board / university.

- Original copy of residential certificate (issued by a local Sabhapati of Zilla Parishad / Sabhapati of Panchayat Samiti / Pradhan of Gram Panchayat / Mayor or Councilor of Municipal Corporation / Chairman of Municipality / Ward Councilor of Municipality / MP / MLA)
- Domicile certificate issued by appropriate authority
- Candidates from SC/ST/OBC category must submit her own caste certificate issued by district magistrate / sub – divisional officer.
